"Scared To Capsize" is the opening track on the forthcoming debut album by London solo artist She Makes War and her first grungy foray in to ukulele playing and vocal looping - the song was performed live for the first time back in June 2009 for the Live at the Apollo arts project in South East London.

This video is the second in a series of thirteen promos Laura is making to accompany her album tracks and is a close collaboration with visual artist Judy Jacob who directed the video, shot on a quiet Saturday in a variety of locations in East London. Instrumental to the magical melancholy are the beautiful handmade paper props by Aste Amundsen and the stellar performances from Bass, Kat Bax and Ben James, plus of course the gorgeous animal costumes borrowed from art directing, costume making and generally fantastic duo The Die Mortal Room.

ALL ABOARD THE PAPER BOAT

Judy Jacob: Director
Judy is a Theatre/Design for Performance graduate of Central Saint Martins, London. Her impressive portfolio includes both independent and client driven projects across the spectrum of visual arts disciplines. Offering unique concepts in short film, music video, performance, arts, live concerts and theatre, her company Beggar's Velvet has provided creative visual content for clients including Kings of Leon, Pixies, Paul Weller, Peter Gabriel & Coldplay.

Bass : The Sleepy Lion

Originally a nationally published teen poet and writer, Bass decided to pick up a guitar at university and start a band so that people would think he was less crazy when he screamed his deepest thoughts out in public. He now runs DIY label Genin Records and puts on events alongside fronting hardcore rock band Djevara.

SUPERHERO UNICORN : It's surprisingly easy to copy Laura's outfit from this video - you can commission your very own unicorn suit (or any other animal, real or imagined) direct from The Die Mortal Room - those amazing superhero spaceboots are sadly all sold out at Irregular Choice, but there are some summer versions on sale now, plus the shop has a whole range of vegetarian shoes and boots.

Aste Amundsen: Props
Aste is a designer, theatre maker and performance artist, who has been creating and designing experimental performance events and acts for over 10 years. Stunts to date include staging Genet's The Balcony in an art deco wardrobe, co-founding Glastonbury’s notorious underground piano-bar, and hanging upside down on a rope singing Jacques Brel songs and playing the accordion. As one half of the Amundsen & Slade Sonic Sideshow she performs on chainsaw and human xylophone and is responsible for the design of the # 3 retro-futuristic incarnation of the Soulsuit wearable tech costumes.
Kat Bax : Lady WineBadger
When not being a scary clown or Badger with a Beehive, Kat is playing bass in a number of guises across London town. A trained musician, she will be performing for Les Enfants Terrible at Edinburgh Festival and Latitude, as well as any number of lucky artists and bands who care to hire her for a summer song.

Kat also has an interest in films, baking, reading, and sparkly makeup. This will be her second music video as an extra for She Makes War.

The Die Mortal Room: Costumes
Ceridwen Brown and Sofie Kapow are The Die Mortal Room, creating props, costumes and puppets and art directing unusual shoots for people with a quirky vision.

This year The Die Mortal Pawnshop will be at Glastonbury Festival "populated by upgrade addicts, trench coats, human pimps and cyborg girls. 8-bit sound glitches and footage leaks from stacks of monitors.."
